How can a country spend billions abroad helping corporate interests and allow it’s own people to go hungry and homeless. Like a great illusionist the powerfully rich deceive the people by giving them television programs that hide the truth. Unreal soap operas, star making shows giving the desperate a thought they can have the next fifteen minutes of fame and incessant riches. Endless sports and game shows that seems more like they are staged and scripted rather than left to chance. Propaganda news programs that have more entertainment items than US or world news.
Be honest do you care about an actress who may have stolen a necklace and the rants of a mentally ill actor fired from his sitcom. How is your conscious when thinking about the homeless and hungry children of Orlando Florida exposed on CBS sixty minutes.
I remember well a drama on BBC television in 1966 about a family who become homeless. ‘Cathy Come Home’ changed how people in Britain saw their responsibility to those who have less. It could never happen here, as the mainstream television companies only want beautiful and rich people in dramas. Sadly after The Thatcher came to power Britain went back to Dickensian times.
We need to step back and take a big deep look at how the politicians trick us into thinking they are working for all the people. The wealth and power in this country has now been concentrated in the hands of a few about 1 to 2 %. Mostly they are the corporate interests, CEO’s Hedge Fund mangers etc. who pay for the candidates in any election. As a characteristic of these power brokers ‘if I pay I want something in return’ remember in America nothing is free not even the air.
So what are they getting back? Anything from deregulation, inadequate financial regulations and the ability to control our daily lives? We are the new slaves, the cannon fodder expendable if need be. They never get their hands dirty that is the job of our elected leaders. The Politicians use others usually innocent scapegoats to take the blame if any needs to be handed down. One must remember the bully always has henchmen who do his work for him.
If we are true followers of Jesus then we must heed the warning signs. The devil is at work, I believe he could even be a republican but as of now I have no proof. We need to wake up America not just to return to the true God but what those powerful and wealthy are doing to this world.
With so many now in Congress who deny global warning as a green hoax and spend taxpayers money on propaganda to prove they are right. In a few years when the world is dying those greedy uncaring politicians will be dead and long forgotten.
As someone who has a rare disease from industrial pollution it will not be long before many others will be joining me. Who can we blame? We can only ourselves for not taking action sooner. Pray and ask questions put the verbal spanner in the works.
